Barton Cottage is a 2 bedroom classic period cotswold
cottage. This period cotswold
stone built semi-detached cottage is situated on the edge of the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water.
It's a 1 minute walk to the famous
Mousetrap Inn (visited by Agatha
Christie !). While many of the older cotswold cottages are quite cramped,
Barton Cottage gives well appointed accommodation spread over 3 floors but still
with all the charm of exposed beams, exposed cotswolds stone walls and even a fully
functioning wood burner.
The accommodation has been thoughtfully renovated to make a spacious and comfortable holiday cottage.
The cottage was completely refurbished in 2008. The cottage comprises of an open plan ground floor with kitchen, dining
area and lounge with open fire and real wood burner, original beams and
Cotswold stone exposed walls. Barton cottage has a small patio area and there is
off street parking for one
small/medium car outside.
Probably the most popular village in the Cotswolds, and
often referred to as the "Venice of the Cotswolds"
because the River Windrush runs right through the
centre. The combination of this clear sparkling water
and the attractive low bridges crossing it create a
charming scene, best enjoyed in the quieter times of day
and quieter months of the year. Bourton-on-the-Water has
many attractions, suitable for visitors of all ages. The
Model Village is a mini replica of the village itself,
Birdland Park and Gardens offers woodland, river and
gardens inhabited by over 500 birds, and the Cotswold
Perfumery is a sensory experience with a difference!
There is a good variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and
tearooms and lovely cotswold cottages.
